Honu Medical - A New Utah Mental Health Clinic
Honu Medical is a clinic that opened its doors (cyber doors) in early 2022. The physical clinic will open in October or November of 2022 at the time of the writing. As the insurance industry has continued to influence psychiatric care more and more, the quality of psychiatry has fallen as insurances incentivize shorter visits and the prescription of medications. Honu Medical exists to address this problem. We seek to provide excellent psychiatric services without the restraints of the insurance industry.
We also understand that human beings are very complex. Especially psychologically. Therefore, we use every tool we have at our disposal to address mental health barriers. Typically, your provider managing your medications will give you a short visit and you’ll leave with a new prescription or a refill. We believe pharmaceutical intervention is an excellent tool, but it is just that – a tool. We have other tools too! We provide therapy, yoga/meditation, group therapy, nonconventional medications such as medical cannabis, ketamine infusions, service opportunities, nutrition counseling, exercise programs, and more!
